Wilderness whitewater rafting on the Klickitat River. Experience the Miracle Mile, a full mile of continuous class III+ rapids with towering walls of basalt columns, beautiful waterfalls, and rugged mountain forests. A rafting trip on the Wild and Scenic Klickitat River is the best way to explore the area’s landscape. The Klickitat River is fed by glaciers on Mt. Adams and is home to steelhead and salmon migrations.

What to Bring
We Provide: Wetsuits, neoprene booties, Type V PFDs, helmets, and splash tops
You Bring: Just your sense of adventure. Wear a swimsuit or quick-dry layers under your wetsuit. Hats and glasses are fine with a strap.
On the Raft: Guides can store medications, snacks, and water bottles in a dry bag
Leave Behind: Electronics, jewelry, and valuables (they’re easy to lose in the river)
Keys & Clothes: Store keys with us and use your vehicle as a locker for dry items
Itinerary
BEFORE HITTING THE WATER
At 9:00 a.m., we will hand out your rafting gear, and you will have time to get ready. Don’t hesitate to ask us questions. We are here to help. Once everyone has changed into their gear, we will board our green shuttle buses and drive to the launch site at Parrott’s Crossing, near Glenwood, WA. You’ll receive a brief orientation, and we will get the rafts into the water.
INTO THE RAPIDS
The excitement kicks off immediately when we shove off with class II-III+ rapids. Once we launch, the canyon has no roads or access points until we reach the fish hatchery 7 miles downstream. The best way to see this stretch of river—with its continuous whitewater rapids, towering walls of basalt columns, and rugged mountain forest, is by rafting or kayaking.
REFUEL AND ROLL ON
After passing the hatchery and running the fish ladder, the rapids diminish. We will stop and enjoy a delicious riverside lunch. From there, the river will be a mix of splashy waves and calm stretches. You can relax and take in the scenic views, including the magnificent Wonder Falls. After 18.5 river miles, we reach our takeout at the Leidl South Boat Ramp around 3-4 p.m. Our pace will depend on the water levels. Higher water levels will make the trip go faster, and lower water levels will make the trip go a bit slower. Our shuttle buses will be waiting, and we’ll quickly load them and head back to our headquarters in BZ Corner.
WRAPPING UP THE ADVENTURE
Back at our headquarters, everyone can change out of their rafting gear and then see and purchase photos taken by our professional photographer. We also have souvenir T-shirts, hats, and stickers available for purchase. We hope you enjoyed the trip and return to run more whitewater with us soon!
