FOX 12's Andy's Adventures Takes On the White Salmon River

When FOX 12 Oregon’s Andy’s Adventures went looking for the perfect summer thrill, they came to the White Salmon River with Columbia River Outdoors.

Guides Woody and Max took Andy and his crew down our half-day White Salmon trip, and the verdict was clear: refreshing, exciting, and the perfect way to spend a summer day in the Pacific Northwest.

The trip paddles through a canyon of blue-green glacial water, past caves and hanging gardens of moss and wildflowers, over miles of continuous Class III-IV rapids. Andy loved the scenery and the rush, and like most first-timers, found the White Salmon far more accessible than expected.

Just One Hour From Portland

One reason the White Salmon is a favorite Portland day trip: it is only about an hour east of the city, just across the bridge from Hood River. Our shuttle handles the logistics, so getting on the water is easy.

You Don't Have to Be a TV Host to Try It

This trip is not reserved for television crews. Our half-day White Salmon adventure welcomes paddlers ages 6 and up, with morning and afternoon start times all season. Whether it is your first time on whitewater or your fiftieth, our guides make sure you have a safe, exciting day on one of the most beautiful rivers in the country.

Book your White Salmon rafting trip and see what Andy was so excited about!
